X-wing starfighters are the Rebel Alliance's workhorses and show their rugged durability by being in constant use. Luke flies an X-wing at the Battle of Yavin, which he enters as an unknown rookie and emerges as one of the Rebellion's greatest heroes. Assigned a spot on Red Squadron, he defies expectations as he expertly pilots his X-wing fighter into the fray, out-flying and out-fighting the swarming Imperial TIE Fighters.

The Death Star is supposed to be the Empire's ultimate weapon in crushing the last remnants of the Rebellion. This massive space station is capable of destroying a planet with a single blast from its superlaser. It houses legions of Imperial troops and has a formidable array of turbolasers and tractor beams. During a full-scale Rebel assault, however, this technological terror is ultimately no match for the power of the Force.
