Like all of the Transforming Action Sets, Darth Vader's head opens up to provide a large playset (relatively speaking) that is related to his character. Appropriately enough for Darth Vader, his head opens to reveal some of the darkest moments from The Empire Strike's Back.
The main level of this playset is the carbon freeze chamber where Han Solo is placed in carbonite to test the system for Luke Skywalker. The central play feature of this level is the freeze setup itself, which you can turn to raise or lower Han in carbonite. A fold-out platform from this level becomes the landing pad where Boba Fett's Slave I awaits the return of Fett with his prize. The top of Darth Vader's forehead houses the windowed chamber where father and son duel before Luke is thrown through the shattered window. Oddly enough, this room is actually below the carbon freeze chamber in the movie.
As is the case with Micro Machines, play value is the most important thing, and I believe this set delivers. It may not be the best Transforming Action Set out there, but it is fairly high on my list.
