Long before the vehicles of the Star Wars saga entered into battle in a galaxy far, far away, concept artists illustrated many versions. For each film in the Star Wars trilogy, rough sketches for the vehicles were refined and perfected. Series Alpha gives you a glimpse of the imaginative contribution of these artists and designers. A booklet with sketches by the original artists is included in each package, along with the concept vehicle and its final design.

X-wing Starfighter

In the assault on the Death Star, X-wings proved pivotal in helping the outnumbered Rebel forces fight and win a spectacular victory. The company that developed the X-wing was taken over by the Empire. At the last minute, key designers with Rebel sympathies defected from the project, taking with them all the plans and prototypes for the X-wing.

Biggs Darklighter
Rebel X-wing pilot who was shot down during the battle against the first Death Star. Lifelong friend of Luke Skywalker.

R2 Unit (Concept Design)
A popular astromech droid model. It assists with piloting and navigatoin. Also serves as onboard repair technician.
