Telloti Cillmam'n was a promising Jedi apprentice who wasn't selected to train with a Master and so was transferred to the Explorer Corps. Four years later, nursing feelings of resentment and dreams of glory, he is in a cave on an out-of-the-way world holding a lit lightsaber so Jedi Master Ekim Ryelli could see to decipher unknown writing. While Ryelli transmits the writing to be interpreted elsewhere, Telloti wanders off, exploring, and comes across a suit of armor on a stone throne. He sees a lightsaber on the ground at the feet of the armor and reaches for it, but as his hand closes around the hilt he is swept into a vision of Freedon Nadd, King Adas and Ulic Qel-Droma. As he comes to his senses, he finds that he is dressed in the armor and about to put the helmet on. He is interrupted by Ryelli who explains that the cave is a tomb of sorts for a Sith Lord and the armor is infused with the Dark Side. Fueled by the armor, all of Telloti's resentments boil up, and he puts the helmet on his head, attacking Ryelli. They duel briefly and Ryelli quickly attains the upper hand, until the suit lets Telloti know about the trick of his lightsaber. Flipping a switch, the blade dies only to be replaced by another on the other end of the hilt, and Telloti kills Ryelli. In the aftermath, Telloti gets a transmission from their ship, informing them that the war is over. In a rage at being denied his glory, Telloti returns to the ship and kills the pilot before confirming the truth of the message. In the message, Palpatine declares that the war is over and all Jedi can return home, But Telloti now thinks of himself as Malleus, the Hammer of the Dark Side, and sets out to find his own glory.
