The Han Solo Trilogy 3: Rebel Dawn (Pages 240-312)
Cover Artist: Drew Struzan
After more than a year of searching, Durga the Hutt has still not found any conclusive proof that Jiliac had his parent Aruk killed, leading him to finally ask Black Sun for help. Xixor agrees, for the low cost of selling him the defensive secrets of Nal Hutta. Han returns to Nar Shaddaa where he learns of Bria Tharen's visit to Nal Hutta from Lando. He then goes to meet with Jabba who is overjoyed to see him and get his smuggling talents working for him again. After a few days, Xixor's bodyguard Guri meets with Durga with the information he is looking for and he challenges Jiliac to one on one combat as per the Old Law. Jabba allows it because, as he tells Han, "No matter who wins, I win". After an exhausting battle, Durga emerges victorious, leaving Jabba as head of Desilijic. Jabba contemplates his Aunt's body and it begins to move as her child squirms free of her pouch. Deciding that there will be no eventual challenge to his authority, he quickly eliminates his very young rival, and then contacts Bria to let her know of the change in management. A few days later, Han is in his favorite bar on Nar Shaddaa when Bria shows up and wants to talk to him. After he gets his anger out of the way and they discuss events that led them to this point, she begins to try and recruit him for her plan. Han becomes angry again and blows up at her, refusing her offer and walking away, feeling good about himself. Later, he realizes that in the heat of the moment he may have made a mistake and returns to find her. He admits that he let his anger at the way she left him get the best of him and tells her that he will help with the assault and training her pilots. While the two of them travel around Nar Shaddaa recruiting, Durga contacts Boba Fett and contracts him to eliminate Teroenza, the t'landa Til partially responsible for Aruk's death. As Han and Bria organize the strike team and gather their forces, they run into many people who they have known in their past, and though Han is unnerved about some of the things Bria has done in her quest, they begin to grow close again, until they find themselves as close as they were before Bria left Han ten years before.
