As the war winds down, Masters K'kruhk and Jeisel are being sent to backup Master Ki-Adi-Mundi when their shuttle is ambushed by Separatists. They escape, but are forced to set down at the Jedi training facility on Bogden for repairs. While they are relaxing after the repairs are completed, Order 66 is given, and K'kruhk escapes with the Jedi younglings thanks to the ultimate sacrifice by Jeisel. Two months later, on Pizkoss, the crew of the Uhumele barely escapes from Imperial troops, but is forced to leave Janks behind. Later, the crew prepares for the sale of an artifact that they have been carrying for awhile, but Bomo is still too new to the crew and can't be brought in to help. Crys Taanzer sits down and explains her story to Bomo. She was on Nadiem when the Separatists attacked and her husband was killed. The Jedi who was there discovered that her son Kennan possessed Force sensitivity, and offered to take him to safety. She agreed, but when Order 66 occurred and even the Jedi younglings were killed, she blamed his death on the Jedi, unaware that her son was part of a group of younglings rescued by K'kruhk, and now stranded on an unnamed planet. The crew meet up with their buyer, but before anything can happen, their buyer turns on them, and his staff turn on him. In the fight, the staff steal what they think is the item everyone wants so badly, and the crew of the Uhumele is taken prisoner. When two of the crew talk loudly of how they'll never break, Bomo speaks up and tells the buyer that only he, the captain and the two loudmouths know where the item is, and so Crys and Meekerdin-maa are sent to work while the others are tortured. In hyperspace, one of the thieves feels greedy and opens the crate, seting off a bomb, and forcing them to land on the same uncharted planet that K'kruhk and the Jedi younglings are hiding on. They find the crashed ship, but the younglings accidentally reveal their identities, after Chase Piru is shot, and the thieves decide to take them in for the bounty. On Mimban, Bomo manages to escape from his torturers, and moves to free the rest of the crew, with the help of Crys. On the unnamed planet, K'kruhk heals Chase, and they move to rescue the younglings. Working together, they manage to eliminate some of the thieves, but when they catch Chase and threaten the younglings, K'kruhk attacks them savagely, tapping into his animal nature. With the younglings rescued, K'kruhk determines to repair the thieves ship and take the younglings somewhere else, where he can leave them for a while. Back on Mimban, Bomo sets a trap and springs it as his captors arrive. He begins killing his enemies, and the rest of the crew rush to help. When they arrive, they find all the mercenaries dead, and Bomo standing over them. They accept him as a full member of their crew, thanks to what he did for them.
