After an event on Alderaan, Bail Organa meets with Count Adan Dooku to discuss insurrection. Organa tries desperately to convince Dooku that rebellion is necessary, and Dooku is resisting when he is shot and killed by Boba Fett. Dooku's head of security, Candra Tymon, gives chase and only loses him when he uses his jetpack to escpae. Outside the city, Fett starts to strip from his armor, dropping it in the water to dissolve, to reveal that he is actually Jahan Cross. Back on Coruscant, as Cross is about to meet with Armand Isard to discuss his next mission on Serenno to ensure an acceptable regent is selected to rule in place of Dooku's son, Ysanne Isard informs Cross that Dooku was not a traitor, he was killed because someone in power wanted him dead. When he brings this up to Armand, he is told that their jobs are to obey orders, not question them. Five days later, on Serenno, Cross meets with his estranged father and discovers that his next assignment, to ensure Rodas Borgin is named regent, will be more difficult than it first appeared. Cross meets with Borgin to discuss strategy, and learns that all the current heads of the houses on Serenno achieved their positions by killing their parents at Darth Vader's command after the Clone Wars. The next day, on board the Dooku airship where they must pick a regent, they are attacked by mercenaries whose leader Vex, knows Cross, and the young Count Bron Dooku is kidnapped. With the mercenary barge self-destructing and the Dooku barge unable to pursue, Cross gives chase and is able to apprehend Vex and rescue Bron, but is unable to convince her to tell him who paid for the kidnapping before the security forces arrive. They take her to the most secure place on the planet, and Cross must infiltrate the facility and rescue her to learn the truth. After rescuing her, he learns that Borgin organized the kidnapping so that his forces could rescue Bron and he would be accepted as regent. Cross is informed that an Imperial fleet will arrive in 32 hours to impose Borgin as regent, which will cause a civil war on Serenno. Meeting with Tymon later, Cross confesses his role in the escape of Vex and convinces her that he has Bron's best interests at heart. They learn that Bron is being held in protective custody at the Dooku undersea resort. They infiltrate they facility and rescue Bron, but as they prepare to move him to safety, they are interrupted by the real Boba Fett who tells them that Bron is going with him. As they are disagreeing, Borgin's forces arrive and a firefight ensues. Tymon and Bron escape to the spaceport while Fett and Cross fight off the others. As Tymon prepares to leave in Cross' shuttle, Fett arrives followed by Cross. As they fight it out, Fett fires a missile at the shuttle to disable it, but destroys it instead. Cross insists that Fett must have been set up and then goes to visit with Borgin. He explains that Fett believes Borgin to be behind his double-cross when it was really Cross. Fett then kills Borgin and Cross moves on, while his father arrives at Alderaan with Bron, where he will stay in peace until he is grown.
