When Baron Pitareeze takes C-3P0 with him to help with some negotiations, R2-D2 is left to watch over the speeder. Almost immediately, he is stolen and taken with other stolen droids to work in the spice mines. Before the theives can make their clean getaway, they are attacked by people wishing to steal their cargo. They prep the escape pod, but R2-D2 boards the pod before them and leaves them to their fate. He makes his way back to the city and arrives back at the speeder with enough time to leave the others none the wiser.
