We Don't Do Weddings: The Band's Tale

We Don't Do Weddings: The Band's Tale
Cover Artist: Stephen Youll
Jabba the Hutt's house band, the Modal Nodes, were clearing up their instruments after a night spent playing when they were approached by a messenger from Lady Valarian, Jabba's chief rival on Tatooine. She offered them 3,000 credits to play at her wedding reception and they reluctantly agreed, even though they didn't normally do wedding gigs. While preparing for the gig at Lady Valarian's club, they were informed that Jabba had noticed that they were missing and that he wasn't very happy about it. Keeping their eyes open, they began their performance, while Figrin D'an lost most of their backup credits at the sabacc tables in preparation for winning it all back later in the night. The night ended badly though, when Jabba's henchmen and Imperial stormtroopers assaulted the party, and the band escaped out the back door with the help of their new friend Wuher. Broke and on the run, Wuher spoke to the Wookiee Chalmun and got them a job playing at the cantina where Luke Skywalker would come looking for a ride offplanet.
