After much success as a TIE pilot, Soontir Fel is transferred to a position training TIE pilots. While there he teaches several pilots who will become key members of Rogue Squadron, including Biggs Darklighter. With the hijacking of the Rand Ecliptic, he will be transferred in disgrace to the 181st fighter squadron under Colonel Evir Derricote instead of being transferred to the Death Star under Grand Moff Tarkin.
