Darth Vader has dispatched Boba Fett to execute Abal Karda, colonel of the Imperial "Lightning Battalion", because he killed his superior officer and stole something that was to be delivered to Vader. Karda's battalion was responsible for wiping out an entire race, the Icarii, and their leader who could see the future. Vader doesn't trust Fett though, so he hires a team of mercenaries to kill Fett after he retrieves the object for Vader. Fett tracks Karda to a hermitage for pessimists, killing all of the mercenaries along the way. After killing Karda he looks in the package to find the living head of the leader of the Icarii, who is still able to predict the future. Darth Vader shows up and fights Fett to a standstill, and Fett is about to die until he throws the package off the cliff, giving Vader the choice of killing him or saving the box. Vader saves the package and returns to his ship, where he's given two potential visions of the future before the Emperor contacts him. Vader kills the Icarii leader rather then let Palpatine get his hands on her.
