A man wakes up in a fire and can't remember anything about himself or his life. Everyone around him is trying to kill him, and he finds that he can do some pretty amazing things. He manages to get away from them with a little help from Vilmarh Grahrk who was only helping him so he could win a bet. Two people approach him claiming to be Jedi, who then attempt to kill him. He recovers the lightsabers they were carrying and gets a flash of memory. His name is Quinlan Vos and his apprentice was Aayla Secura, and Bib Fortuna was part of setting him up. Vos tracks down Fortuna and barely escapes with his life, so he and Grahrk escape the planet and head to Vos' home world, where he learns that he needs to go to Ryloth. On Ryloth, he discovers that someone smuggled glitterstim spiders from Kessel and fed them Ryll in order to create a substance called glitteryll, which can be used to erase a persons mind, making them a blank slate. He also discovers that someone put a price on his head. He learns that Pol Secura, one of the ruling clan on Ryloth had done this to him and Aayla, apparently to protect them. Afterwards, Secura had sent Vos to Nar Shaddaa to be killed, and placed Aayla as one of his slaves. During the ensuing fight, Aayla uses the force to stop them, ends up killing her uncle, then runs away. Vos and Grahrk travel to Coruscant, where Grahrk incapacitates Vos and delivers him to Chom Frey Kaa for the bounty. When he is sure the money is paid to his account, he releases Vos, who then attempts to kill Chom Frey Kaa, but is stopped by Mace Windu who then takes him back to the Jedi Temple for retraining.
