Anakin Skywalker and two of his friends are playing together in Watto's shop when they find a lightsaber. It won't turn on though, which leads them to believe it's broken. Later, while looking at Sebulba's new Podracer, the boys drop the lightsaber into one of the pod engines. Anakin retrieves it, and while he's pulling it out it ignites briefly, severing a wire. Sebulba chases them away without suspecting anything. They get back to Watto's shop shortly before Watto returns and chases Anakin's friends away again. At the next podrace Watto bets on Sebulba to lose, as that's the only way he can raise enough money to pay off his debt to Jabba. Sebulba loses and Watto wins the money he needs, unaware that the urchins he just chased away again were the cause of his good fortune.
