Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are dispatched to join Luminara Unduli and Barriss Offee on the planet Ansion. Together they plan to convince the government officials to vote to stay within the Republic. In order for the officials to vote in their favor though, the Jedi will need to convince all the different citizens of Ansion that it is in their best interest to get along and stay within the Republic. If they fail, galactic war could be the result.
It was nice to see Alan Dean Foster to return to the Star Wars galaxy, even if it was just for this one book. I found this story to be a well written lead-in to "Star Wars: Episode II- Attack Of the Clones". We are shown that the Separatists have been planning their actions for a long time and are willing to go to any lengths to reach their goals. Further, we are shown sides of both Anakin and Obi-Wan that we don't get an opportunity to see on the big screen due to time constraints. We also get to see Anakin through the eyes of Barriss Offee, another Padawan, which shows us just how different Anakin is from other Padawans.
