The Rebellion has found a good location for their new base, on the planet of Arrochar. They meet with the leaders of the planet and all the details are hammered out, contingent on Princess Leia consenting to marry the crown prince of Arrochar, Prince Kaspar. Leia agrees to the arrangement, but her friends Han Solo and Luke Skywalker aren't as fond of the idea. As the rebel leaders train the locals in rebel tactics, Luke is grounded by Wedge Antilles. Later on he is sent to the palace to meet with Leia, but is unable to get in to see her. He presents himself before Mon Mothma, looking for something to do to keep himself busy, so is assigned to help the local Rangers on a mountain job. While he is on the assignment, an automated Imperial transport enters the system so Leia and Han fly up to check it out. C-3PO determines that it only stopped because of a navigation error, so he provides the correct data and it leaves, but unknown to the rebels, it leaves behind a probe droid. On the mountain, Luke finally receives a warning from the spirit of Ben Kenobi that he is amongst evil, and when they reach their destination the Rangers turn on him, explaining that their job is to send a signal to a nearby Star Destroyer so it can destroy the new Rebel base. Luke escapes, hoping to warn Leia before it's too late and she marries the prince. As he flees down the mountain, chased by the Rangers, he is rescued by his wingman, Ardana. They get to the palace to warn Leia and Mon Mothma, but they are too late as the Arrochar General detonates a bomb in the palace, and Darth Vader's fleet enters the system. They are ordered to begin planetary bombardment, while in the palace, Mon Mothma and Leia make their escape. Han and Chewie find the Prince just as he kills the General who betrayed him and Luke arrives just in time to save the Prince from a soldier. Luke offers the Prince a place with the Rebellion, but the Prince refuses, feeling that his place is with his people. The Imperials get close enough to attack, but they are hit by the Rebellion's new ion cannon weapon, disabling all three Destroyers. The Rebel fleet destroys the now helpless ships and they make their escape to look for a new home.
