After losing their reward money to a pirate, Han Solo and Chewbacca are on Wukkar trying to take a job to earn more money to pay back Jabba. Their tip turns out to be a trap by a bounty hunter, but as they leave the cantina they are approached by Eanjer Kunarazti, who wants to hire them to steal back credit tabs worth 163 million credits from a local crime boss named Avrak Villachor. Han declines because he has no experience with this sort of thing but, when Eanjer forcefully agrees, Han agrees to see if he can put together a team. He contacts an old friend, Rachelle Ree, and the two of them gather together a group with the skills necessary. Identical twins Bink and Tavia Kitik have the intrusion and technological know-how, Dozer Creed is a ship thief who will be their frontman, Zerba Cher'dak is a street magician with misdirection skills, and Han's old friend Mazzic sends Winter, who has a photographic memory and Kell Tainer who has demolitions skills. As they meet to begin their planning, Lando walks in. Assuming that Rachelle invited him, Han is surprised that he came after the fiasco on Ylesia. They quickly learn that Villachor is more than a local crime boss, in fact he is working for Black Sun and is currently hosting the Falleen Qazadi, one of the Black Sun Vigos. They plan their theft to take place during a local festival and get to work. They discover that Qazadi is using a cryodex and data files to blackmail the local authorities. Bink and Winter infiltrate the hotel that the cryodex is being kept at and using Winter's memory, make an exact copy of it. They enter Villachor's mansion compound under cover of the festival in order to plan their infiltration, but their activities don't go unnoticed by Dayja, an Imperial Intelligence agent who is trying to steal the data cards for his boss. Dayja decides to give them as much help as possible so that they can do all the work and take all the risks and he can just steal the cards when they're done. With the fake cryodex in hand Lando meets with Villachor, pretending to persuade him to work for someone else and bring the data cards with him, while Bink cozies up to Villachor's security chief to distract him with a supposedly different criminal. On the day that the heist is to take place, Han is taken prisoner by Villachor on the orders of Qazadi. The team decides to carry out the plan, improvising where necessary. Qazadi asks for the cryodex to be brought to him in exchange for Han's life while he sends for his lieutenant in charge of the real cryodex in order to learn the truth. Dozer and Winter go to stall the lieutenant while Lando, Zerba and Kell infiltrate the mansion under cover of a droid malfunction. Meanwhile, Bink and Tavia pull a switch on the security chief, leaving Tavia a prisoner of Qazadi and Bink meets up with Han, who has escaped the guards, and Zerba and Kell. They gather in a room above the vault and begin breaking in while Han puts on a set of guard armor and goes down to keep an eye on Villachor, who is trying to get into the vault by his door. Bink gets them through the roof and then goes to find and rescue her sister from Qazadi. At the hotel, Dozer and Winter succeed in retrieving the cryodex, but the Intelligence team is on hand and confiscates it in exchange for their freedom, and so they head to the rendezvous. In the mansion, Zerba and Kell rig the safe, and as soon as Villachor gets in to the vault, they set off explosives that send the heavy, sphere-shaped safe rolling through the wall with Han in front trying to herd innocent people away from it's destructive path. Bink finds her sister, but is captured by Qazadi using his pheromones but they are interrupted by Lando, Chewie and Eanjer's rescue attempt. Eanjer enters the room and kills Qazadi, freeing the girls, and as they leave Bink thinks she sees him taking holos of the dead Falleen. Han and his team reach the compound wall where they are met by Lando, Chewie and the twins, Eanjer claiming to stay behind to cause more chaos before meeting them at the rendezvous. Lando takes the data cards thanks to a previous arrangement he made with Han and leaves for his ship. As he leaves the planet, he is picked up by a Star Destroyer under the command of Dayja. Dayja confiscates the cards and they discover that they are fakes. Han had expected something like this and pulled a switch on Lando. While this is happening, Eanjer makes his way to the Milleennium Falcon and sets up to take out Han. Eventually it becomes apparent that Han isn't coming and he discovers the ship he is sitting at is nothing more than a fake, a decoy, and he realizes that he has been tricked. The remainder of the team gathers at the rendezvous point where they learn that Eanjer is dead and has been for more than six weeks. They realize that it was all a setup so that whoever was impersonating Eanjer could kill Qazadi. They come away with a much smaller take than the 163 million they were expecting, only 800,000 to split. With less money than expected, Han buys out the others shares of the data cards with his chare of the credits, keeping enough to pay off his debt to Jabba, and Dozer Zerba and the twins go their separate ways. With only Han, Chewie, Rachelle, Kell and Winter left, Rachelle explains that Han's debt to Jabba has been raised to a half a million credits as a result of their operation and Winter suggests that Han go back to help out with the Rebellion. Han is surprised that she knows about that adventure and Winter explains that she works for the Rebellion in procurement and a replaced escape pod from the Falcon was one she obtained for the Rebels. Han reassures her about Princess Leia still being alive, and he and Chewie leave, thinking about their options. Elsewhere, Eanjer removes the remains of his disguise while fuming about the failure of his plan to get revenge on Han and Lando. He puts his helmet on and Boba Fett goes to collect his credits from Jabba.
