After passing a message from Janek Sunber on to Luke Skywalker, Wyl Tarson is caught by his boss Raze, who decides to make him pay for his treachery. Wyl tries to escape, only to find that it is too late. Raze has planted a bomb in his skull and given him a mission to fulfill, sending him to Ahakista. On the way, Wyl recruits a couple of washed up Rebels, named Baco Par and Darca Nyl. When they arrive at Ahakista, they find the planet under Imperial blockade, but they get through easily after Raze provides them with the security code, and they then meet with Sardoth, who has their mission for them. The Empire placed a facility called the Hub on Ahakista that was designed to help manage their fleets and Sardoth wants it gone. He tries to recruit the local insurgents to help, but they refuse and their leader returns to their safe house, which is immediately attacked by Darth Vader and his stormtroopers.Wyl and his team follow Sardoth into the underground while the leader of the local rebellion decides to help them out. They make their way underground to the Hub where they wait for the protective energy field to come down. Meanwhile, Sardoth lures Darca Nyl away from the rest and mentions that he was a Jedi who turned against them and had to go into hiding. The lightsaber Darca is carrying once belonged to Sardoth's master Lycan. They duel as the rebellion brings down the shields and Wyl's team moves into the Hub, but Darth Vader senses Sardoth using the Force and moves to intercept, confronting the duelers. Vader focuses on Sardoth, killing him, but letting Darc Nyl escape. He then moves to catch Wyl and Laynara as they try to circumvent Raze and send the information elsewhere. Raze tries to blow up the bomb in Wyl's head, but is stopped by Vader. Wyl tells Vader everything he knows, at the cost of destroying the bomb, and switches sides to work with Vader, betraying everyone out of his fear of death.
