Shortly before the Battle of Hoth, Corporal Jobin records a message to his mother, explaining how he is doing. During the battle, the Imperials take control of the Ion cannon and Jobin leads a small squad to take it back. They then set the cannon to self destruct and attempt to retreat to the ships. They get to Hangar Bay Seven where they encounter Darth Vader and his troops. They retreat to Hangar Bay Ten where Jobin is shot, and he passes his message to his mother to someone who can escape. Vader attempts to interrogate him, but he refuses to talk and so is killed. His message gets to his mother though, just in time for her to brief the troops about the assault on the second Death Star.
