At the Crossroads: The Spacer's Tale
Cover Artist: Stephen Youll
The smuggler BoShek arrives at Tatooine in a "hot" ship and has to evade an unexpected Imperial patrol in order to deliver the ship to his employers. In his downtime, he decides to relax at the Mos Eisley cantina, where he brags of his exploits to Chewbacca and is approached by an old man looking for a ship. Not having one, he directs the man to Chewbacca, but not before the old man suggests they discuss the Force on his return. As he leaves the cantina, he is accosted by a local cop looking for the pilot who evaded the Empire's blockade earlier. Evading the cops, he tries to hide in the ship wreckage nearby, but the only way to do so is to pretend to be a street preacher like everyone around him and hope nobody notices. The cops are distracted when a lone Jawa attempts to attack a group of stormtroopers, and BoShek is attacked by the pther preachers who felt he was mocking them. Fleeing the scene in a "borrowed" speeder, he made his way over to Docking Bay 94 in time to see the Millennium Falcon escape. Faced with a squad of stormtroopers, BoShek resolves to live a life more in tune with the light side of the Force, and is able to manipulate it enough to escape from the troopers and return the speeder, reflecting on how he is at a crossroads in his life.
