When Muftak comes to Momaw Nadon with information about a Lieutenant Alima that is on Tatooine looking for missing droids, he sees an opportunity to right the wrongs of his past. When he was a high priest on Ithor, Captain Alima came to him requesting the secrets of the Ithorian genetic engineering and gardening. When Nadon refused, Alima had the Bafforr trees of the Cathor Hills eradicated, and then when he threatened to do the same to the herdship Tafanda Bay, Nadon caved and revealed the secrets. For his actions, Nadon was exiled from Ithor and he made his way to Tatooine to perform penance. Nadon has Muftak sell his name to Alima in connection to the missing droids with the intent to lure him in and kill him, but when it comes right down to it, he is unable to overcome his own reverence for life. When the Millennium Falcon blasts out of Mos Eisley with the droids, Nadon sees his chance and tells the Imperial leader that he had informed Alima of Han Solo and the droids, hoping that Alima's career will be destroyed as a result. In response, the Imperial captain turns and guns down Alima without a second thought. In penance for his actions that resulted in the death of Alima, Nadon takes genetic samples of him, with the intent of growing two clones to replace him, in accordance with the Ithorian Law Of Life.
