With the evidence Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca found regarding Shira Brie's Imperial background, Luke's name is formally cleared of all charges. Shortly after, the Rebels become aware that the rock from a previous base on Golrath has the ability to record what happens around it, displaying it for all to see as the rock cools. They quickly scramble a mission to destroy their Golrath base, realizing that the Empire could learn far too much about their activities from this rock. On Golrath, the Imperial team does indeed learn of this ability and transmits the news to Darth Vader right before the rebels arrive. While the starfighters distract the Imperials, Princess Leia infiltrates the base and confronts the Imperial commander while attempting to cause a self-destruct. The Imperial sets the destruct himself, reasoning that the death of Leia will be a severe blow to the Alliance, but Leia escapes right before the facility is destroyed. As the fighters jump to hyperspace, Luke is left behind due to minor damage to his hyperdrive that he sustained during the battle. Luke retreats to the nearby Beheboth system to lay low until the heat from the Empire is gone. He takes a job with a moisture farmer named Darial guarding their water from brigands, and the first night he is there something causes him to pass out along with all the other guards. When they awaken, the water and Darial are gone and the equipment is destroyed. Luke tracks the brigands to their stronghold where he is captured and taken before their leader where he learns that the reason the brigands are so successful is because they are using a captured telepathic creature named Tirrith to put everyone to sleep so they can steal the water with no problems. Luke and Darial defeat the brigand chief and free Tirrith, but they have to use the stockpiled water to stop the remainder of the brigands. In gratitude, Tirrith seeds the clouds and causes it to rain on the planet, letting Luke know that he really made a difference as he leaves to return to Arbra.
