Using the TIE Fighters acquired by Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian, the rebels stage an attack on an Imperial installation called Spindrift. Routing the Imperials with minimal loss of life, the Rebels retrieve the travel route of a secret armada and return to Arbra in preparation for another mission. With the mission a success, Shira Brie requests permission to return to her home planet briefly but her request is denied until Luke offers to put together an escort for her. They travel to Shalyvane, where they land near a ruined city. Entering the city, they make their way to an altar where Shira adds a drop of her blood to the surface. As she does this, they are attacked by a Force of barbarians and she is forced to explain what happened to her in her youth. She explains that her people and the barbarians were continually fighting until the barbarians made an unexpected overture of peace. Her people were gathered at the very shrine where she had just left a drop of her blood, when they were attacked by strange flying machines. Most of her people were killed and she escaped into the maintenance tunnels before she could be killed herself. She later learned that the flying machines were TIE Fighters and swore vengeance against the Empire for what it did to her, which is why she returns to this spot every year to renew that vow. They decide to try escape the barbarians through the very maintenance tunnels that Shira used all those years ago, but they collapse behind Shira leaving the rest of the rebels to fight the barbarians. Just when it seems like the end for the rebels, an X-wing roars past, killing some barbarians and sending the rest into retreat. The rebels retreat before the barbarians have a chance to regroup, and return to Arbra in preparation for their next mission.
