Luke Skywalker has returned to Tatooine to recruit pilots to act as blockade runners for the Rebel Alliance. On his way to Mos Eisley he runs into his old friends Fixer and Camie at his old moisture farm and they explain that the Tagge family has a big project on Tatooine that they are working on. In the Mos Eisley cantina, they happen to run into Han Solo and Chewbacca, but the reunion is cut short when Fixer finds Luke and explains that they reported him to the Imperials. Fleeing to the desert their landspeeder is damaged by stormtroopers, but through creative scrounging they are able to make it back to Luke's ship in time to find it being stripped by Jawas. They manage to bargain their way into a ride back to Mos Eisley, but on their wat they discover that the Tagge family has developed a weaopn that allows them to flash-freeze things so cold it destroys them. Evading the Imperials yet again, they manage to escape the planet in the Millennium Falcon. As they leave, they discover Baron Tagge also leaving and so they decide to follow him to the planet Junction where Luke tries to infiltrate the Baron's forces. Learning that the Baron plans to freeze the entire planet, Luke is captured after warning Han and sending him to warn the Rebels. Han passes on Luke's message to the Alliance, and they send a task force to stop Tagge. Meanwhile, while Luke is fighting Baron Tagge, he learns that that the real plan is to freeze the Rebel fleet as they arrive to rescue the planet. Luke defeats Tagge and flees in a TIE Fighter, but he doesn't get very far before his sabotaged ship fails completely on him. Ejecting out of his craft, he directs himself towards the nearest emplacement to destroy it. As the Rebel task force moves towards the planet, the Tagge's activate the device and Luke saves the fleet at the last minute. A TIE Fighter is sent to kill Luke, but the radio transmissions lead the fleet back to the Tagge's ship and it is destroyed.
