The Millennium Falcon has put in at Tirahnn to stock up on supplies, and Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia are recognized while wandering through the market. Eluding their pursuers, they return to the Falcon where Luke's injuries are treated and they are introduced to Katya M'Buele, an old friend of Han's. After hearing who attacked them, Han leaves to track down an old acquaintance while everyone else waits at the ship. While Katya sleeps, she is attacked by a Smoke Demon who absorbs her completely but her death awakens Luke, who fights it off. Luke kills the creature, but not before it tries to absorb him as well. Coupled with his previous injuries, this is enough to incapacitate him as Han returns and they leave. Arriving at Marat V, or Skye, they are attacked and shot down. Han has everyone but himself and Chewbacca eject, and he returns to the skies to draw the Imperials away before it appears he is destroyed. Luke and Leia are captured by the locals and put on trial for trespassing on their sacred places. Before they can be sentenced, the leaders of the locals realize that Luke is the answer to their problems and so send him and Leia to assault the Imperial fortress. While Luke picks off stormtroopers from the air, Leia finds and rescues Han and Chewbacca. Before they can escape though, Luke is attacked by a student of Darth Vader's and he has to surrender to the Force to defeat her. With the Imperial forces driven off, the natives of Skye reveal that Obi-Wan Kenobi once visited their world with his apprentices and provided a great service.
