Sate Pestage is losing control of the Empire and Ysanne Isard is manipulating everything behind the scenes in order to gain control of the Empire. Pestage decides to attempt to negotiate with the Rebellion in order to save his own life, so Princess Leia takes Wedge Antilles to meet with him. At the same time, Tycho Celchu, and Soontir Fel join Han Solo and Winter disguised as Leia on a diplomatic mission to Eiattu. While there, Winter and Tycho are kidnapped by Moff Tavira and a pirate gang known as the Kavil's Corsairs, and taken to Axxila. Coincidentally, the remainder of Rogue Squadron is on Axxila as well, providing backup for Leia and Wedge. They are surprised to find that the pirate gang they had been trying to clean up, Kavil's Corsairs, is also there. Tycho and Winter escape from custody in a Y-wing, and just when they are about to run out of luck, Rogue Squadron appears to save them. Han Solo and Soontir Fel arrive to round out the party, and they manage to escape the planet while Sate Pestage returns to Coruscant to make his final plans.
