Three days after the end of Return Of the Jedi, Wedge is flying a mission where they come across the remains of the Executor. One of his pilots is killed in the action, leaving him to write a letter to the pilots parents. Shortly afterward, Wedge is in the mess hall jimmying a serving droid in order to get a sandwich, when Luke Skywalker comes in and tries to persuade Wedge to take a commission that will take him out of his X-Wing.
