R2-D2 is scheduled for some memory cleanup, but he never arrived at his appointment. C-3PO goes looking for him and finds him in a dark room playing the holo of Princess Leia begging Obi-Wan Kenobi for help. C-3PO chides him stating that the holo must be taking up a lot of free memory. R2 then plays several more holos, one of Han Solo as he prepares to leave Yavin IV before the Death Star arrived, one of Leia as the Empire descends upon the base at Hoth, and one of Luke after the second Death Star was destroyed. C-3PO then calls and cancels the maintenance, because he agrees that those memories are too precious to lose.
