As Jorin Sol recuperates from his ordeal at the hands of the Empire, Lieutenant Janek Sunber comes to a decision regarding what to do about his childhood friend Luke Skywalker. Luke then receives a message from Janek "Tank" Sunber professing a desire to defect to the Rebellion, and he is determined to help his childhood friend regardless of what the Rebel High Command directs. Luke and Deena Shan travel to the rendezvous point where they discover a trap set for them by Imperial forces. They manage to rescue Janek Sunber and return to the Rebel fleet where they are severely reprimanded for not following orders. All seems to be going well until the Imperial fleet suddenly arrives, Jorin Sol attacks the Alliance High Command, and Tank attempts to capture Luke Skywalker.

This is an interesting story that explores several different reasons why a man may betray his friends. Would a man betray his friends out of a sense of loyalty, or because the feel they don't have a choice, or both? And in the end, will they make the right decision?
