Shortly after the death of the Emperor, Mara Jade is on the run from Ysanne Isard and Imperial Intelligence. She makes planetfall on an out of the way world with a strong Rebel presence with the intent of hiding out for a couple of weeks. Just after she disembarks, she sees General Crix Madine and realizes that there must be something bigger here than she first realized, and sets out to complete an old mission.
