Deena Shan recently joined the Alliance to have a better life for herself and to get a chance to meet Han Solo, whom she's had a crush on ever since she saw pictures of him. Just as she meets him, the rebel fleet runs into an Imperial, at which point the fleet scatters in order to meet up later. Deena gets to know several of the heroes of the rebellion, and discovers that she has a long way to go before she can measure up to them.
