Colonel Jace Malcom is leading his forces on a mission to plant beacons around a spaceport on Kalandis Seven so a Republic bomber team can destroy it. As they infiltrate the spaceport, a ship lands that Malcom recognizes as a Sith command ship. Leaving his team to finish their job, he boards the ship, hoping to capture it, as that would give them intel enough to take the planet easily. By the time he makes it to the bridge, the ship has taken off, his team has finished their job at the spaceport and the spaceport is destroyed. He attacks the Sith officer on the bridge, but before he kills her she activates the self-destruct. He abandons the ship and is caught by a Republic fighter as the Sith ship explodes. When his second in command offers to buy him a drink later, he explains that he has been recalled to Coruscant and he'll be leaving as soon as he returns to base. Later on the ship to Coruscant, he learns that he may be in store for a promotion, but it doesn't make any real difference to him as the war is still the war.
