On Wor Tandell, Jarael explains to Zayne how she was kidnapped as a child by the Crucible. She managed to work her way up in the ranks, trying to make things easier on the others around her until she was found by Camper and rescued as a teenager. Zayne offers to help her face her past, but she isn't ready, so he goes into town. As Jarael returns to the ship, she finds Malak there waiting for her, trying to convince her to come with him. She doesn't know what to say, and Rohlan insists she stay, rather forcefully. Malak and Rohlan fight, not stopping until Zayne arrives with Malak's Republic captain. Malak offers Jarael a place by his side yet again, and Zayne goes up and kisses her. Zayne explains that they need time together elsewhere, wherever she wants. After Malak leaves to join Revan in their war against the Mandalorians, Zayne explains that he was giving her time to decide what she needs to do, just like she gave him. She agrees to try and take the fight to the Crucible, and Zayne tells her that he has more support than Gryph knows.
