Lost Tribe Of the Sith: Pantheon
John Jackson Miller
Lost Tribe Of the Sith: Pantheon
Cover Artist: Dave Stevenson
In the 900 or so years since Lillia Venn died in an exploding starfighter, the Sith have fractured as a race. Faction fights against faction, human killing human. Varner Hilts has grown old compared to most Sith because his role is caretaker of the Sith history. Every 25 years since Yaru Korsin died, the leaders of the Sith have gathered to hear his last will read, so they can remember where they came from. As Hilts is making preparations for the celebration, the Sisters of Seelah faction led by Iliana Merko, devoted to the ideals of beauty espoused by Seelah Devore, invade with the intention of changing the will of Korsin to give them power over the other factions. Their plan fails when they learn that the will is read by Korsin himself in a holographic recording. Thwarted by competing factions and technology they don't understand, the reading goes off without a hitch until the end. The recording device fails after 2000 years, and a previous message is played back for the gathered Sith. It is the message from Naga Sadow, a pure-blood Sith, relaying his instructions to Korsin, instructions that led to the Tribe being stranded on Kesh. Realizing that there are more species in the Galaxy than just Humans and Keshiri, and that Korsin and his crew were little more than servants to the pure-blood Sith, Iliana destroys the recording device and convinces the rest of the leaders of the Sith that this is a secret that must be kept. Predictably, within a week, the rest of the Tribe learns the truth and begins fighting itself again. In the meantime, Hilts realizes there was more to Korsin's message. Hilts realizes that when Korsin said "The true power is behind the throne" that he must have been referring to something behind the captain's chair on the Omen, and so sets out with his Keshiri assistant, Jaye, to discover what he meant.
