Lost Tribe Of the Sith: Sentinel
John Jackson Miller
Lost Tribe Of the Sith: Sentinel
Cover Artist: Dave Stevenson
Jelph Marrian, onetime member of the Jedi Covenant, sworn to hunting down and exterminating the Sith, now stranded on Kesh and surrounded by Sith, is trying to find Ori Kitai in Tahv. Ori is in Tahv, and finds her disgraced mother mucking out the uvak pens. Killing her mother's guard and stealing his lightsaber, she talks to her mother and finds out that Gadin Badolfa is the man she needs to talk to in order to meet with one of the High Lords who might help her. Jelph remembers that Ori used to work in the aqueducts, so he goes there where he accidentally runs into her. In her rage, she fights him until he is able to appeal to her better nature and convince her that she isn't like all the other Sith. She steals an uvak and they go back to the farm where she is supposed to meet with some High Lords, but it is actually Lillia Venn, the Grand Lord herself, that is there. Jelph begins shooting Sith who haven't had to defend against blasters before in their lives, and then runs Ori to the river as Venn starts to take off in the starfighter. She begins to fly up when Jelph's booby trap goes off, killing Venn and everyone else nearby. Eight weeks later, Ori and Jelph are hiding in the jungle, building a new home for themselves. Jelph has nowhere to go and Ori can't go home again, and so they've decided to leave it all behind. As Jelph is listening to his transmitter, he finally gets a signal, only to hear that the Jedi are at war with each other, and it revolves around Revan. Realizing he can't share the information about a planet full of Sith because of what it will do, he feels adrift until Ori suggests that maybe he should take a cue from the Sith way of life and do something selfish for once. Together they destroy the transmitter and move on to live their own lives, free of the people who want something from them.
