Lost Tribe Of the Sith: Purgatory
John Jackson Miller
Lost Tribe Of the Sith: Purgatory
Cover Artist: Dave Stevenson
Ori Kitai, daughter of a High Lord, is visiting the slave farmer Jelph of Marisota to gather flowers for decorations for the celebration of Donellan's Day, celebrating the birth of Nida Korsin's only son, whose death marked the transition of the leadership of the Sith to a merit based system. Later, at the celebration, the Sith High Lords are enjoying the duels of crippled uvaks, when the Kitai champion Campion Dey attempts to attack the Grand Lord. He is defeated easily, but the result is that no matter what the truth is, the Kitai family is cut down and loses everything and Ori is now a slave. She flees to Jelph's farm to hide and plan her revenge, and he helps her to understand that is was likely the Grand Lord herself who organized this, in order to eliminate her rivals. Several days later, as Ori is sleeping, Jelph reflects on the risk he's taken on himself by letting her stay there and the jeopardy it has put him in. Shortly after, when he leaves to do his work up in the jungle, The Sith find Ori, kill her uvak and confiscate her lightsaber, leaving her with a shovel to commemorate her new life as a slave. In a rage she destroys things around her until she finds something metal buried under the manure. Digging it up, she finds what looks to be a small Republic ship and begins to dream of her way back into the Sith. Jelph Marrian, up in the jungle, reminisces of his life as a Jedi, before he was expelled from the order, before he became trapped on Kesh, senses something wrong and rushes back to his farm where he finds his uncovered fighter where he had been piecing it back together ever since he crashed on Kesh, but Ori is nowhere to be found, so he begins to chase her down.
