As the Sith Empire and the Republic meet on Alderaan to discuss terms of a treaty, a Sith strike force attacks Coruscant to ensure that their terms are met. With the treaty signed, the Sith withdraw from Coruscant, leaving the Jedi Temple in ruins. As the opposing forces begin their withdrawals, a bounty hunter named Braden is captured by the Sith, and the ship carrying Master Dar'Nala and Satele Shan is attacked, leaving Dar'Nala a prisoner and Satele escaping the destruction of the ship. On Balmorra, Jedi general Fortris Gall engineers a rescue of a captured demolitions squad without authorization, and on Coruscant the Senate has decided to not rebuild the Jedi Temple immediately so Master Orgus is sent to help Fortris see reason. On the Sith ship, Master Dar'Nala releases Braden so that he can tell the Jedi that the Sith fired on her, breaking the treaty, while Master Orgus rescues Satele Shan on his way to Balmorra. On Balmorra, Fortris is persuaded to back down and he and Satele are sent to Dantooine to help resolve the conflict there. On Coruscant, Braden manipulates the Jedi Grand Master Zym to meet with him so he can pass on Dar'Nala's message, but he is unable to do so because Zym insists on trying to arrest him. On Dantooine, Satele is unable to persuade the Republic forces to stand down, and Master Orgus is sent to Nar Shaddaa to find the man who killed Master Zym. Braden is directed to go Dantooine, but before he can leave he is apprehended by Orgus, who is convinced to take him to Dantooine, where events are coming to a head. Fortris and his allies are discussing what can be done to expose the falsity of the Sith treaty when they are approached by Dar'Nala, who everyone believed to be dead. She reveals that she has been manipulating everything to get the treaty revoked so that the Jedi don't have to abide by a truce with the Sith. They are confronted by several Sith, and while they fight Satele arrives. Dar'Nala is killed when she loses control and everyone else retreats to honor the treaty while it lasts.
