A couple of years after the Beast Wars of Onderon, the forces of light have built a tomb on the beast moon of Dxun where they intend to inter the remains of the Dark Jedi Freedon Nadd and Queen Amanoa. As they prepare to load the remains onto a ship to transport them off-planet, they are set upon by a small strike force who steal the sarcophagi and retreat; it's obvious that the Dark Side is still a force to be reckoned with. Nomi Sunrider is among the Jedi called to Onderon to assist in defeating the Dark Side forces, tying together the two stories from the original "Knights Of the Old Republic" book. Amidst brushes with the Dark Side and loss, the Jedi and their forces push back the followers of Freedon Nadd, but not before his secrets are passed on to two rich kids from the Empress Teta system.

This short story bridges the gap between the "Knights Of the Old Republic" book and the "Dark Lords of the Sith" book, and sets up motivations for several characters that are common between them. This edition of the story was released as the first in a series of 30th Anniversary hardcover books, and I was pretty quick to snatch it up, as I was never able to find it previously.
