While Luke Skywalker is defending those that the New Republic refuses to help, Finn Galfridian trains with Master Dray who suddenly has a vision of Yuuzhan Vong assassins killing Borsk Fey'lya, and Finn is the one who needs to stop them, so they set off for Coruscant. Finn's sister, Kaye is still determined to reunite the people of Artorias, and learns that the remainder of the refugees were taken to the Imperial planet Shramar and so takes her mother and the Heart Of Artorias there. On Coruscant, Finn is sent in to meet with Borsk Fey'lya, and when he hears talk of his people by a supposed Imperial, it gives him away and he is taken captive before he can expose the Imperial as a Yuuzhan Vong agent. Awakening in a cell, Finn finally meets with Fey'lya, who refuses to believe that he is anything but an assassin. At Shramar, after a brush with a Star Destroyer, the Heart is allowed to land, but no one is allowed to leave the ship, and stormtroopers shoot a girl who attempts to get to Kaye. As she recovers on the ship, she explains that the refugees are being used as slave labor and resistors are killed. Nina Galfridian uses political leverage to meet with the leader of the Imperial forces on Shramar, and when they refuse to release her people, she reveals her true self and begins killing everyone in the room. When Kaye hears the commotion, she attempts to get in and breaks a stormtroopers arm through his armor before she is shot. She then singlehandedly kills the troopers in her way and rushes in to find her mother, only to learn just what her mother is. On Coruscant, Dray and Finn's droid break him out of jail and he continues in his quest to save Fey-lya by trying to retrieve his gear from Fey'lya's personal quarters, where he is shot by a guard. On Shramar, Kaye struggles to come to terms with what she has seen and done as they prepare for an attack by Yuuzhan Vong forces. Back on Coruscant, Finn sneaks into Fey'lya's chambers, where he overhears Fey'lya refusing to allow support to Shramar because he believes it is all a lie. Admiral Bylsma refuses to accept what he is told, so he gathers up a fleet of whatever he can and goes to the aid of Shramar, where Nina reveals her true self, that she is a Shamed One, to him to gain his trust. She explains that the Artorians were farming Yuuzhan Vong food and lambent crystals that had been growing there since long before the actual invasion. Before they can evacuate, the Yuuzhan Vong fleet arrives and they begin fighting for their lives, while on Coruscant, Finn tries to convince Fey'lya that he is wrong. Unsuccessful, he runs from security, but when he is overtaken he convinces the security chief of the danger of the Yuuzhan Vong agent. They move to apprehend him, but are overcome, until Dray arrives. Dray kills one of them with his red lightsaber, and tries to get Finn to kill the other, but Finn refuses, leaving Dray to do it himself. Finn and the security guard escape from Dray after Prowl is cut down, and on Shramar the refugees are evacuated and escape when the defense force destroys the Yuuzhan Vong supply fields. Nina makes a speech to everyone who will here it and announces a coalition of Outer Rim forces as she reveals her identity to everyone in range.
