In an effort to understand the Yuuzhan Vong ship she has stolen, Jaina Solo travels to the Hapan world Gallinore with Lowbacca, Tenel Ka andd Kyp Durron. While Tenel Ka is busy with a diplomatic meeting, Jaina wants to have a Hapan collaborators slave coral implant removed, tested and modified by one of Gallinore's leading biological researchers. Convincing the Hapan prisoner that it is the best choice, she and Kyp transport him covertly into the research facility. Before he can be delivered to the scientist Sinsor Khal though, he attempts an escape that ends with Jaina and Kyp erasing the memories of four security guards. Arriving at Khal's laboratory, they deliver the prisoner to him and discover that Khal has Jedi capabilities and then they leave to erase any traces of the prisoner being brought there. Going back to Lowbacca, she asks him to erase all traces of her from the security system, and then she erases his own memory of the last couple hours.
