Tahiri Veila is on Dagobah trying to imitate what Luke Skywalker and Anakin Solo went through there, but finds herself being chased by the Yuuzhan Vong instead. To her surprise though, the first group to find her is a group of Shamed Ones who are looking for the planet they believe will save them. Together they fight off the Vong warriors, though it kills all of the Shamed Ones. As he is dying, the leader asks Tahiri to let the Prophet know that the planet has been found, and even though they are on the wrong planet, Tahiri knows the real planet and so agrees to help. On Coruscant, Nen Yim is asked to research a Sekotan ship and it surprises her so much that she feels she needs to see the planet it came from. She arranges through the priest Harrar to have the Prophet contact the Jedi for help. Feeling like they can't refuse an opportunity to bring the war to a peaceful conclusion, Corran Horn and Tahiri take a captured Vong ship to Coruscant where they manage to get to the assigned contact point before the ship dies. Following the Prophet's plan, they manage to escape with him as well as Nen Yim and Harrar on the Sekotan ship. After the Vong prove their trustworthiness, the ship arrives at Zonama Sekot where it finally dies as they are landing. Stranded in the middle of nowhere, Nen Yim begins researching the local life and is amazed at how similar it is to Yuuzhan Vong life. Corran and Harrar decide to travel to the nearby hyperspace control facility and Nen Yim discovers something from her research that can change everything. At this point, the Prophet decides to show his true colors and reveals himself as Nom Anor before killing Nen Yim. He then goes to the control facility to destroy it while Tahiri chases him. Nom Anor sets his virus to kill the hyperdrive controls and evades Tahiri to escape. As Tahiri and Corran are trying to get back to him, Harrar is killed and a Yuuzhan Vong lander picks Nom Anor up. Sekot manages to avoid destruction when the hyperdrive is activated and discovers the things that Nen Yim discovered so retreats to ponder what it has learned while they travel through hyperspace.
