Agents Of Chaos I: Hero's Trial
Cover Artist: Rick Berry/Braid Media Arts
The Yuuzhan Vong invasion is well underway, but there are certain elements that may cause problems for the invaders. Chief among these threats are the Jedi Knights. In an attempt to incapacitate the Jedi, the priest Harrar sends a priestess of the deception sect named Elan to "defect" to the other side. She agrees to allow a biological agent named bo'tous to be incubated within her, and she will offer a cure for a certain illness in exchange for meeting with the Jedi, where she will expose them all to the deadly spore. Following the memorial service for Chewbacca, Han Solo is met by an old friend named Roa. Roa has information about a group called the Peace Brigade, who are providing slaves to the Yuuzhan Vong among other things. While investigating at Ord Mantell, a Vong attack results in the capture of Roa, and Han meets a Ryn named Droma. Han receives intelligence that states that the Peace Brigade will be striking at Bilbringi and so he decides to follow his investigation. Meanwhile, the Vong are staging operations to make it look like they are attempting to retrieve Elan and her familiar Vergere, and so they are transferred to Bilbringi, en-route to Coruscant. By chance, they are all on the same liner when the Peace Brigade attempts to recover Elan for the Vong. Han and Droma take the Millennium Falcon to bring them back and find that something has killed all the Peace Brigade members on the shuttle. Discovering Elan's plans, Han barely escapes with his life while Elan is killed by her weapon, and before Vergere escapes she provides Han with a potential cure for Mara Jade. With Mara's illness retreating, Han makes up with his son and leaves again to help Droma find his family and to find out more about the Peace Brigade.
