The New Republic receives a distress call from the inhospitable mining planet Corbos but are unable to spare any military units to investigate. Instead, they call on the Jedi to help them, and Kyp Durron is dispatched with Dorsk 82 to provide assistance. Kyp is directed to call for assistance from Kirana Ti and Streen if the situation requires it, but instead he goes to solve the problem once Dorsk 82 is asleep. When Dorsk 82 wakes to find Kyp gone, he calls for help himself.In the meantime, Kyp finds the creature that caused all the destruction and, after a difficult fight, manages to defeat it. The other Jedi Knights reach him just as the creature dies, only to discover that there is a much larger one that is going to be far more difficult to kill. As they are battling the second creature, Dorsk 82 discovers a massive power generator that is still operational. The Knights maneuver the creature into position and Dorsk 82 activates the generator, which kills the creature. The Knights then return to Yavin IV to prepare for the next mission they will be sent on.
