While our heroes are fighting off a group of TIE Interceptors, they come across a planet that has a large number of Jawa Sandcrawlers strung around it in orbit. Upon landing, they meet an artist who calls himself Perek, and while they're investigating the area, R2-D2 and C-3PO are infected by micro-droids that rewrite their programming. The same micro-droids then infect Luke's mechanical hand as well, causing it to distort. Luke fights the mastermind behind this droid rampage, the artist Pelek, and defeats him after he cuts off his own mechanical hand.
