The peace between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant has been ratified and Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade have announced their intention to marry. Despite Mara and Luke's desire for a low-key ceremony, the political machine immediately decides that this would make an excellent outward sign of the new galactic peace. Not everyone though is happy about this, and a small group of disgruntled Imperials decide that this is a good time to stage a terrorist attack.

I loved this book. This one ranks right up there in my top five Star Wars stories of all time. I'd grown accustomed to the standard formula: Luke finds girl, Luke falls in love, tragedy strikes. I thought is was so satisfying to see Luke finally get some happiness in his life. I also enjoyed the look into the lives of these heroes during their downtime. The women going to a spa, the men going out to a bar to have fun, and Luke and Mara just relaxing together. This was such a change of pace from the typical Star Wars story that it actually felt quite refreshing. I highly recommend this one to everyone.
