As Ania Solo attempts to see Empress Fel in order to get some leniency for her friend Jao Assam, there is an explosion in the brig and troopers learn that Jao is gone in a ship, leaving guards killed by a lightsaber. Later, Ania is taken to meet Fel in person and unofficially. Fel explains that she can't do anything officially to help Jao, but that if Ania will take a squad of troopers and find him and bring him back, she will try to get leniency for Jao. Ania agrees, and she, Sauk and AG-37 take the soldiers to find Jao. On board Darth Wredd's ship, Wredd explains his past to Jao in hopes of obtaining his help. Wredd learned he had Jedi abilities around the time when the Jedi were defeated at Ossus. He wanted to live like a Jedi and protected his people until a Sith arrived and took him prisoner. They tested a weapon on his planet, devastating it and pushing it off it's orbit to wander the galaxy, and then the Sith Lord spent time breaking him to obtain an apprentice. He later manipulated his master into attacking Master Yalta Val so he could begin his quest of overthrowing the weak galactic government. After telling his story, he allows Jao to escape and send a message to his friends so they can arrive at the dark, rogue world where Wredd grew up. They find Jao and rescue him, but before they can return to their ship, an invasion force of Sith arrive at the planet looking for Wredd. They attack and the troopers try to hold them back, but the Sith are just too many. Wredd joins the fight and they retreat until they are cornered and Jao realizes this was all an attempt by Wredd to kill off the remaining Sith so he can be the last one with Jao as his apprentice. Just then, the Imperial Knights arrive, led by Empress Fel and signalled by the stormtrooper commander, and they join the fight. The battle rages on, and when Antares Draco is taken down by a Sith, he is rescued by Ania and her friends. The Empress joins the battle to give her troops some moral support, and they manage to defeat the enemy. With the rest of the Sith lying dead around their feet, Darth Wredd turns and stabs the Empress. Jao gives chase and the two duel until Jao severs Wredd's hands. Wredd begs Jao to kill him and rid the galaxy of the Sith, but Jao refuses for fear that he will just become another. As Wredd tries to convince Jao to kill him, Ania obliges by shooting him instead. They return to Coruscant, where the Empress begins to institute some changes in the Imperial Knights, allowing Jao to go free. She asks Ania to stay on as her head of security, but Ania turns her down, and she and her friends leave, looking for their next adventure.
