In the aftermath of the rescue of Master Yalta Val, Darth Wredd is striking down hidden Sith lords one by one, and the leadership of the Galactic Triumvirate decides to let him continue rather than hunting him down, because he's doing their work for them. Ania Solo and her friends are rescued by an Imperial Star Destroyer, and they are rewarded for their efforts. Ania is offered a job on Coruscant and is told that the Empress wishes to meet her, Sauk joins AG-37 and they leave, while Jao Assam has a vision while he is in bacta. In this vision, he sees Darth Wredd kill the Empress and take himself as apprentice, but when he tries to explain this to Val, he is told that it is his place to follow orders, and he has a new position on Coruscant. As he talks to Ania, they decide that they need to track down Wredd and stop him before Jao's vision comes to pass. As they leave, they are stopped by Val and a short firefight ensues before calmer heads prevail and Val allows them to leave. With AG-37, Sauk reflects on an encounter he had with a fellow Mon Cal who made it seem like people were returning to Dac, the Mon Calamari homeworld, to rebuild. Meanwhile, following a lead, Ania and Jao go to Nalyd, looking for someone who might help them find Wredd. They find their target, but he is about to be executed. Fearing they might lose their chance, Ania rescues him and they flee down the mountainside but he dies before they can learn anything from him. As he dies though, the guards catch up to them and tell them that at least they won't be taking him back to Dac. On Coruscant, the Empress tells Val that Ania must be brought to her as a prisoner and that Jao is a deserter and that the penalty for desertion is death. On Nalyd, Ania and Jao learn that the criminal they were chasing had been expecting rescue from friends on Dac and so they travel there, where their ship is captured and dismantled. Infiltrating the facility, the find a Mon Cal and Quarren prisoners named Tikin and Luen, who take them to see that a pirate fleet is being built. They are found by guards and taken before Darth Luft, the Sith Lord in charge of the facility, who laughs and says that if Wredd had come there he would have killed him. Telling them that he doesn't need to fight them, he drops them through a trap door into an escape pod and launches them at the dead planet. They transmit a message to both AG-37 and Val, explaining what they found, and while Val tries to convince the Triumvirate that they need to intervene at Dac, AG-37 arrives and rescues them from the water. Back on the shipyard, Jao feels like he needs to stop Luft and so he parts ways with the rest while Tikin runs to inform Luft, hoping to save his son. Luft kills Tikin, starting an uprising in the slave population, while AG-37's ship is rescued by the arrival of Admiral Gar Stazi and Master Val. Using an unorthodox plan, Stazi floods the dock with water, chasing out the pirates, while Jao confronts Luft and kills him. With the area clear, the Mon Cal and Quarren are able to begin rebuilding, and AG-37 and Sauk rejoin Ania and Jao in the hunt for Wredd. As they are leaving the system though, they receive a transmission from Wredd himself, thanking them for helping him eliminate a rival, and they realize that they were just being manipulated by him all along. Ania vows that if they could liberate the slaves on Dac, they can take down one arrogant Sith.
