Jaina Solo, Tenel Ka and Allana are taking a brief camping trip on a Hapan preserve with Allana's pet nexu, Anji. Almost immediately upon leaving the ship, Jaina feels that something isn't right, but Anji takes off into the forest and they give chase. As they follow the trail, suddenly Allana can't feel Anji in the Force and they come to a spot where her trail simply ends. Almost immediately they are attacked and they fight back, killing most of them and incapacitating the rest. Before dying, one of the men explains that they were ambushed at the orders of someone else, and they notice that these are poachers. As they return to their ship with a prisoner, they are attacked by the guide who turns out to be a Force user. He tries to attack Allana, but at that moment, Anji drops from the trees and kills him, rescuing Allana and making Jaina realize how devoted Anji is to Allana.
