As "Bantha" Rawk, Cade Skywalker's uncle, flies the Mynock to the hidden Jedi Temple, Azlyn Rae leaves beacons to guide her Imperial Knight allies. When the Imperials land behind the Mynock it sparks a small battle that is ended when the Imperials propose an alliance between Roan Fel and the Jedi. Meeting with the Jedi Council, Master T'ra Saa explains that there is merit to the idea, but with the Jedi's reduced complement it's not really feasible at the time. Cade presents his plan for a small group of Jedi to assassinate Darth Krayt and allow the Sith to destroy themselves, and it is met with a negative response. While the Council deliberates, Jariah Syn glimpses Rasi Tuum, the Jedi that killed his father and decides to kill him in revenge. He hunts him down, but is stopped before anyone can be killed, and after explaining that his father was killed by Tuum while working with Rav on a job, Tuum explains that Syn's father and Rav were raiding a mining camp when he stopped them. Shado Vao takes Cade out to prove to him that he is falling to the Dark Side, but Cade refuses to see that possibility. With the Council finished deliberating, they announce that they are willing to work on an Alliance with the Empire, but the refuse to sanction Cade's assassination of Krayt. Determined to proceed regardless, Cade leaves with his normal crew, several Imperial Knights and Shado Vao.
