Retreating from the Maw, Jaina and Lando find themselves under attack by Sith pirates. Defeating them and managing to escape, they return to Coruscant to report on their activities to the Jedi Council and make them aware of Luke's need for reinforcements. Meanwhile on Coruscant, Chief Of State Daala orders the Mandalorians to stand down when it becomes clear that the insane Jedi appear to have recovered. On Abeloth's world, Luke Skywalker, Sarasu Taalon and Gavar Khai are trying to learn more about Abeloth while Ben Skywalker and Vestara Khai watch over the quickly recovering Dyon Stadd. The return of the Sith meditation sphere to the planet prompted Ben and Vestara to return to the others and let them know, prompting a confrontation that revealed Dyon Stadd's body instead of Abeloth's. Returning to the ships they found that Abeloth was no longer on the Jade Shadow and they used the Sith meditation sphere to attempt to find her at the Pool Of Knowledge where Taalon jumps into the pool and begins a mysterious transformation. Retreating back to the ships, the Jedi found that Abeloth had stolen the Shadow so, with the help of Vestara they steal the Sith ship and follow. On Coruscant, tensions come to a head when the Jedi Council learns that Acting Grand Master Kenth Hamner has not been completely honest with them. Forcing him to step down, they begin planning their next moves, as they are tired of being pushed around by Daala. Luke, Ben and Vestara track Abeloth to Pydyr, where they find her hiding among the Fallanassi, claiming to have always been one of them. Encountering Taalon and Khai again, the party then descends on the Fallanassi village to hopefully and the conflict. Luke is able to kill Abeloth after a heavy battle, but as they begin to escape he sees Abeloth again, in another body. Wanting to learn what is happening to him, Taalon joins sides with Abeloth and captures Ben to torture and kill him. As Taalon starts to complete his transformation into another creature like Abeloth, Vestara kills him to prevent that from happening and she and the Skywalkers begin to make their escape. On Coruscant, Kenth Hamner tries to prevent the rest of the Jedi from doing what they feel they need to do, and in a battle with Saba Sebatyne he ends up dead because she can't save him and save the Jedi missions both. The Jedi and their allies launch several missions at the same time, first capturing several high level dignitaries and using that to create a distraction while the Solos rescue the Horn youth who are in carbonite and the remainder of the Jedi fighter pilots launch to provide support for Luke. They arrive at Pydyr in time to break the Sith blockade and allow Luke to follow Abeloth to her next destination.
