Millennium Falcon (Pages 53-317)
Cover Artist: John Van Fleet
When Han Solo's granddaughter Allana finds a mysterious piece of hardware attached to the Millennium Falcon, the small family decides to go on a quest to discover the history of Han's beloved ship. They start with Lando Calrissian, who recounts the story of how he won the ship, and directs them to the person he won it from, Cix Trouvee. Arriving at the Oseon system to meet with Cix, they learn that he died earlier in the year, but his children are able to share a story about Cix's ownership of the Falcon before pointing them to Vistal Purn of Molpol's Flying Circus who Cix obtained the ship from. Meanwhile at the medical facilities of Aurora on Obroa-skai, a man wakes up from a coma that lasted longer than 60 years. His name is Tobb Jadak and he has no memory of the accident that put him in a coma. Han and Leia track down Vistal Purn on Taris, acting as a judge for the most famous pet show in the galaxy. Before they can meet with him though, Allana is kidnapped by beings who want Han to convince Lando to provide them with a shipment of YVH war droids. the terrorists are stopped by a rogue Jedi named Seff Hellin who demonstrates Force powers that he should not know and then runs rather than being taken into custody. When they finally get to sit down with Purn, he tells them about how he joined the circus and piloted the Falcon for the owner. He tells them how he rescued all the small animals after a pirate attack, and how that attack endeared him to his future wife Sari. He explains that he doesn't know how the ship got involved with the circus, but that they should look up the circus proprietor, Dax Doogun, who in turn directs them to find Dr. Parley Thorpe on Obroa-skai. At Aurora, Jadak finally learns the truth of his final mission and leaves for Nar Shaddaa to learn what happened to the Stellar Envoy. With the help of Flitcher Poste, he tracks down Rej Taunt and, in exchange for helping rej gain revenge against the Colicoids, is sent to a former ship thief named Zenn Bien. Zenn explains that she was persuaded to assist in a job stealing a YT-1300 that had been in impound for some time so that is could be stripped and sold for parts. During the job, they are stopped by the Empire's new Interdictor cruiser which they sabotage. Her partner, Quip Fargil, then explains that he has joined the Rebellion and that the ship is going to be used to help them carry out missions. When asked where Quip is now, she direct Jadak and Poste to Vaced even though she believes the ship was destroyed at Bilbringi. On Obroa-skai, Dr. Thorpe reminisces about her time with the Falcon, running medical mercy missions throughout the Outer Rim. She explains that she was given the ship outright on Vaced by a man named Quip Fargil. On Vaced, Jadak is the first to find Fargil and then decides that he will have Poste steal the Falcon while he poses as Fargil for the Solos. He tells them Fargil's story of naming the ship the Millennium Falcon and then being asked to run a suicide mission against the shipyards at Bilbringi but being unable to carry through. When Poste tries to steal the ship he learns that he can't, but just then henchmen of Jadak's mysterious benefactor Lestra Oxic try to steal it as well. He escapes and he and Jadak work their way into Han and Leia's confidence enough to join them as they leave the planet. C-3PO recognizes Poste though as the one who first tried to steal the ship and they come clean about their motives. Using the mnemonic device "Restore Republic honor to the galaxy", they find themselves at the planet Tandun III, which has been heavily vongformed and is tearing itself apart, where they use the Falcon as the key the Republic Group intended it to be and find the treasure. Just then Lestra Oxic arrives and discovers that the treasure the Republic Group stole was a fake and that the real treasure must have been stolen years before. Jadak and Poste agree to join Oxic in continuing the hunt and the two ships escape just before the planet destroys itself. With their quest for the history of the Falcon completed, Han and Leia decide to return to Coruscant to help Luke Skywalker, who is being charged by the Galactic Alliance for not stopping Jacen Solo sooner.
